The work carried out in 2012 by the Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance Nizar Baraka has been paid its fair value. Nizar Baraka was elected by the magazine The Banker as the “best Minister of Finance in the Middle East” and “Minister of Finance 2012-Global Award.”
This double award recognizes the work done by the minister who has managed to maintain growth in a difficult economic national and international. After such recognition, it is difficult to find a replacement as described.
Baraka was chosen after several rounds of discussions in the drafting of the magazine and after a survey of central bankers and economic experts, said those responsible for the publication which specialises in banking and finance.
They were “impressed by the fact that the Moroccan Ministry of Finance presents performance indicators for better implementation of government programs, noting that the restructuring reforms to stimulate growth, investment and boost businesses still ongoing in Morocco. In 2010 Salaheddine Mezouar before was also voted best finance minister in the Middle East.
“This decision is a true recognition of the work of the Moroccan Ministry of Finance over the past year,” said Melissa Hancock of The Banker in a letter to Mr Baraka, MAP reported.”Our editorial ( of the Banker Magazine) and the experts surveyed stressed the good macroeconomic performance and low inflation achieved under your leadership,” she notes. She continued: “We are also very impressed by the vast field of economic reforms” launched in Morocco.
